KUALA TERENGGANU: Traffic congestion in the city here is expected to be resolved within the next three years when several new roads and bridges are built and completed.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said said the construction of two bridges, namely the one linking Seberang Takir to the city centre and the Kampung Losong bridge linking Pulau Sekati and Teluk Pasu, would be given priority.
“For the Seberang Takir-City Centre bridge, it is now in the final stages of designing while the tender would be opened next year.
“As for the Losong-Pulau Sekati-Teluk Pasu bridge, preliminary works on the construction site are progressing.
Both bridges are expected to be ready within 36 months,” he said without disclosing the allocation for building the two bridges.
He said this to reporters when attending the Hari Raya open house hosted by the State Executive Councillor for Education, Higher Education, Science, Technology and Human Resources Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman in Seberang Takir, here on Saturday. – Bernama
